Nathan
DiStefano explores the terrain of love in its many aspects and guises that
go unnoticed and are dulled by the familiarities of the everyday. His paintings
are of an activity in time; It is not a set moment but dynamic and near
rhythmic. Each gesture of paint is like a container of energy as he translates
natures infinite variety of information and energy with each mark.
"Beauty surprises me even when I am looking at what I assume to be beautiful. There is always a touch of strangeness and novelty about it, an element that I did not expect."
Doylestown native, Nathan DiStefano, is an MFA graduate in Painting at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His rapid brush strokes and intense colors generate searching and growth while creating a vigorous feeling toward life as he searches for higher dimensions of the spiritual that is apart of our ordinary life moving within the environment.
His paintings create an association between force and form; motion and universal events happening in space. Nathan has taken 20th and 21st century theories of art, science and religion; untying them to create a universal concept in the forces of harmony and the universe.
Nathan's works have been published in the Art Acquisitor, Direct Art, and Manhattan Cable.
